How a pressure switch with single function works?

we are about to buy a pressure switch, but the problem we don't know what will be more suitable a double function or single function.

A pressure switch, when the pressure reaches the set point, will either close and allow electricity to flow to something, or open to stop the flow of electricity.

To my knowledge then, they have that sole function.

I don't know what a double function pressure switch is.
