Horizontal compressors placed vertically

Can a Horizontal tank compressor be placed vertically? Is there anything that can mess up on the compressor?

I wouldn't run my car if it was up on it's side. By the same token, I wouldn't run an air compressor that was designed to run horizontally when it was tipped vertical.

It will certainly mess up the oil lube part of the process, and even if it's not oil lubed, I still wouldn't do it.
