Hitachi window AC compressor not working

I have a quadricool TM 1.5 Ton window AC which was bought in may 2008.It had been working perfectly before y'day night.It isnt cooling at all now.The compressor sign on the display panel switches on after some time of when the AC is switched on but the compressor actually does not start.There used to be a louder sound when the compressor starts but that sound does not start now even though the LED for compressor glows on the panel.

Check the capastor on the motor. Lot cheaper than a new unit. Most of the time the start cap is the first thing to go on window units.
