High discharge temp melting compressor line

Line going to pressure cut off switch gets so hot it melts the hose running from the tank intake to the pressure switch.

OK, I'm trying to figure out what you are saying.

Your air compressor will have a metal or braided steel line running from the head to the tank check valve. That's the route for the compressed air from the pump to the tank as the air is getting compressed.

Perhaps at that check valve junction, and below the check valve, you will have a line going over to the pressure switch, so that the compressor pressure switch can sense the tank pressure so it knows when to cut out. This line is commonly metal too.

It is normal for these lines to get hot enough to melt plastic, which is why they are normally metal.

So, what plastic line is touching those and melting?

Maybe you can post again with a photo so I can see it.

The simple answer is, of course, don't let the plastic line touch the metal ones.

Cheers,

Bill
