CAP 2000 Pressure switch

I have a CAP 2000 air compressor that i replaced the switch in because the unit would not turn on. The switch is AB-9415626. Now my issue is that now the unit will not turn off and the pressure relief valve opens. There was some time between when I took the old switch out and replaced the new one so I cannot remember exactly how it was connected. Looking at other switches online, the terminals are marked motor and line and you hook up accordingly. My switch terminals are labeled L and N. When I connected it the new switch, I had the power cord connected to the L and N terminals and the motor connected the the other L and N terminals. It runs this way but will not shut off. I tried connecting the power cord to both L terminals and the motor to the N terminals and got nothing. Is this new switch i got bad? Do you know the proper way to connect this switch? I figured L is line and N is motor, but not sure anymore. Any other suggestions wold be appreciated.

Are you telling us that whichever way you connect it, it does not respond to turning the switch to off or run/auto?
