Identify a compressor pump that's 40 years old

I'm putting together a compressor so I can do some spraying on ambulance based campervan.

The pump is one I bought at an auction in the early 1970's. It was new / unused at the time.
Do you recognise what it might have come from. It's twin cylinder and marked S&G4 (part of the casting) followed by 133944 punched. The metal label states Type: 4/67 (maybe a date) Type PCGA 424/1. At a guess I'd say it has a 1.5" bore and a 2" stroke. There is some stuff I'd like to know such as how high to fill the oil and what speed it may be safe to run it. It's currently being set up to run 1150rpm of a 1hp motor.
Could it be a vehicle brakes pump, perhaps military ?

It is a Routemaster Compressor
by: David

The compressor you have is for an AEC routemaster. These are in short supply, a recon unit being around £750.00 exchange at the moment. I don't need one (as yet) but many do. Feel free to email me metro425@btconnect.com

Who made compressor for MW in1977?

I found an old MW Air Power compressor with a 3hp (approx.) HP gas motor. It needs new rings and gaskets. Having major problems even knowing what to look for. Tag on tank shows it to be manufactured by Melben. Can you help me?

I cannot, but now that it is posted live, I hope someone out there can.

Good luck.

Bill
