Hi. A neighbor was given this electric air compressor and was told it was used with the Browning .303 machine gun mounted on the Supermarine Spitfire during WW2.

Unfortunately we've been unable to find any reference to it on the internet.

We would appreciate any help you can offer to identify it.

Cheers Graeme

One known application for this compressor
by: Anonymous

This GE compressor was used in some of the gun turrets flown on B-29 bombers. The compressed air was used to "charge" (reload) one of the 50mm brownings after a misfire. Does yours function? How much pressure does it reach? These were usually sold war surplus to SCUBA enthusiasts in the 1950's and 1960's and they were pushed well beyond the rated pressure.
