Blows internal breaker

Dan, if you are referring to the thermal cut out as the internal breaker, what your compressor is experiencing is an overheated motor.

Reasons for that include the use of a too small extension cord, a too small breaker for the circuit, a start capacitor failing, a failed unloader valve... or many other things.

You don't provide much information about the compressor, it's age, how often you use it, how long you've used it at one time, it's power supply and so on, so I can only offer general advice.
