Gizmo from Ciasons SP1804S air compressor

Gizmo from Ciasons SP1804S air compressor

Just lately, I got wondering about this.

It is on my Ciasons SP1804S.

Pin thing pops up while running, drops at cut-off.
Holding it down doesn't seem to do anything.

It does have check valve/unloader at the other end of the tube at the tank.

Any idea what it is?

pop up pressure indicator

is what it's called.

It can tell you there is pressure on the head, meaning the compressor is working to some degree, or when off, that the check valve and unloader are working.

In other applications, it's to let you know that a valve that's supposed to relieve pressure is working before you go loosening connections.

The inside is just a small spring loaded piston.
I don't know the 'empty' pressure.
