General Air Compressor

I have a General air compressor. The model number an serial number are faded and not readable. It appears to be in good condition, but I'd like to make sure it has all of the parts/pieces and I know what to test and how o test it before I try to start it up. (Especially the relief valve!). Any help would be appreciated./

Rich, regardless of the make of compressor, many PRV's are same sourced, meaning they all work the same way.

If you pull out on the PRV ring, and push it back in, several times. That's a pretty good indication that it will crack open if needs be.

Did you open the tank drain to see what comes out? If there is water present, and that is rust red, that's not a good sign for the integrity of the tank.

See under the tank section on the Sitemap of this site for more info.

Good luck hearing from General Air Compressor owners.
