Gas air compressor runs but will not builb up any air pressor

Buddy, when these guys run, they run loud. So loud you can't hear if you've got a leak.

So first thing I would do is make sure the tank drain is closed.

When you say that it builds no pressure, then that would be zero air in the tank, and zero gauge movement while the compressor is running?

If the tank drain is shut tight, I would then check the intake port to see if air is huffing out instead of, or as well as, being drawn in. That would indicate a valve issue.

Check these things out, and then add a comment here if that doesn't do it, and we'll work on it together to see if we can figure out what is going on.

Cheers,

Bill

hi my compressor was working great two days ago, then tried to do a fill today on my 15L as soon as a couple of bar built up in the tank, the compressor starts to slow under strain, and if left stalls out.

please help, as the compressor is loud when on, i have turned off the power but left the tank connected, i could here a bubbling coming from the dip stick, do you have any idea what needs doing. cheers.

carl gibson.

ps when the compressor is running with out any load it sounds normal, as soon as i connect a tank it sounds rattly.

_______________

It seems obvious then that, under load, the problem occurs.

It is difficult to suggest whether it's mechanical, the motor is failing, or the start / run capacitor (if it comes equipped) is failing.

If it were me I'd take the compressor to an electric motor rebuilder and ask them to load test the motor and the capacitor(s).

B.
