Gardner-Denver 30HP Rotary Screw Air Compressor 230V BLOWED OIL

I JUST BOUGHT A USED Gardner-Denver 30HP Rotary Screw Air Compressor 230V AND THEY SAID IT STARTER TO BLOWED OIL. AND THEY SAID THE REPAIR MAN SAID IT WAS A EASY AND CHEEP FIX, THEY PUT THIS COMPRESSOR OUT OF SURVISE AND USED OTHER COMPRESSOR, NOW I OWN IT, WHAT TO YOU THINK IS WRONG WITH IT ? COULD IT BE A SEAL? I PAID VERY LITTLE MONEY FOR IT SO I CAN INVEST MONEY INTO IT, I HAVE REPAIRES AND REBUILT PISTON TYPE COMPRESSOR, BUT NEVR PLAYED WITH A ROTOR VAINE?

My first thought John is the oil separator. The rotary screw compressor uses oil as a sealant for the screws, this oil travels with the air out of the air end, and then is stripped from the air by the oil separator before the air gets into the tank or the mains.

Cheers,

Bill
