Finding a replacement reed valve.

A few days ago I bought a Coleman compressor. I assumed I would be able to fix it not knowing how difficult getting parts might be. It has a broken reed valve. Coleman's solution is to buy a new motor & pump assy. I've been searching the web for a valve without success. I was just looking at reed valves for 2 cycle engines. I saw one three petal that had the right configuration but no dimensions.
My question is does anyone know of a source for compressor reed valves or has anyone used reeds from anything else in a compressor. Has anyone tried a DIY valve from anything that worked. I read that leather was used a long time ago. Mcgiver please check in. Incidentally the compressor is a very heavy upright that is labeled "up to 6 hp", a lie, Its actually a 2 hp but adequate for me.
