figure how big of a generator do i need to run my air compressor?

14 amp compressor

Bill says...

Most generator outputs I've seen are in watts, with an indicator of maximum amperage.

You haven't said how many watts your electric motor will need.

From www.powerstream.com/Amps-Watts.htm I can tell you that "You cannot convert watts to amps, since watts are power and amps are coulombs per second (like converting gallons to miles). HOWEVER, if you have at least least two of the following three: amps, volts and watts then the missing one can be calculated. Since watts are amps multiplied by volts, there is a simple relationship between them."

You need to talk to an electrician and I'm not one.

Cheers,

Bill
