Feed tube

I have a compressor with 3/4 npt outlet but goes to 1/2 npt on inlet on the tank

Can I use brass pipe for feed line and will it work

The outlet from the pump is 3/4" NPT and the line from the pump to the tank reaches a 1/2" NPT on the tank fitting, is that correct?

Can you use brass? Sure. You can use copper too, as long as the I.D. of the new one is at least as big as the old and you can get the fittings.

I suspect that compressor manufacturers would like to use copper for the pump to tank feed, as it's corrosion resistant. It's also a lot more expensive that an alloy, which is, I guess, why copper isn't used more often.
