ex703800aj spits oil from vented oil cap

Campbell hausfield model # ex703800aj.

compressor has been sitting for 3 years. have not changed oil .
When you turn it on (electric motor) it starts to spit oil from vented oil cap.

If the oil sump isn't overfilled, this would suggest you are getting lots of air into the sump. The air is possibly bypassing the piston seal and pressurizing the sump, driving oil up the fill tube and out the vent cap.

When you remove the vent cap with the compressor running, can you feel air moving out the fill tube?

If so, I surmise you need to replace the piston seals immediately. If you do that, when you tear down the pump to accomplish this, ensure that you replace the pump gaskets as well.
