everything runs but will not build air

sounds like something got a little louder then it quit building any air at all. valve is closed on bottom,dont feel air coming from top or anywhere else.

Cory, good that you checked for air leaks. That is an issue when compressors run but don't build air pressure.

That the sound changed when your air compressor is running is a good clue, as well.

I would suggest from that information that you have an internal gasket leaking, and air is simply cycling back and forth inside the pump, or you have an intake / pressure valve failing.

To check both will require dis-assembly of the pump to have a look see what is happening inside.
