error message on view screen

I have a Kobalt air compressor which is oiless. The unit is not pumping or starting at all. The led screen is reading "err". The 120 Volt outlet is good and at the rated voltage.

Tank is empty? Tank gauge reading at zero? If not, first pull the plug (if this model is electric) and drain the tank down to zero.

Plug it back in. What happens?

Please provide as much detail as you can.

Is there a click? Any sound from the unit?

I hope by unplugging the compressor that this will reset whatever is showing up as an "err" on your screen, and by lowering the pressure in the tank to zero, the low pressure might allow a reluctant pressure switch to trip.

Please let me know what happens.
