by James Tatum

The pressure switch will come one seven to eight times. Then it will not come on the next time. Then the wires will also start to smoke.

What the promblem? What need to be replaced? Help please

My air compressor is a Emglo.

Hello James. I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the compressor symptoms.

When you say the pressure switch will not come on, are you saying that the tank pressure falls below the normal cut in pressure level, and the pressure switch does not trip?

And, are you saying that when the pressure trip switches to start the air compressor, the wires start to smoke when the compressor starts?

The first thing I would check, regardless, is the power supply, to make sure that it is what it is supposed to be.

Then, if you would comment with for information, I would be happy to try and help further.

If you comment, tell me what you found when you multi-metered the power supply, OK?

Cheers,

Bill

Rebuilding a ku pump so which is the top ring?

by Dave
(Yakima, Washington)

The k133 ring set for the ku pump has two top rings in which the dots are installed up. One ring appears to be all steel and the other has some sort of composite bonded to it, which is the top ring?
Thank you, Dave

You have the manual, right?

My read (and not having pix of your rings) says the one with composite goes in the middle.

24 150-1013 RING,COMPRESSION,PISTON,W/TPR

If that doesn't seem right to you, please post pix in a new page, or a link to them.

Good clean power supply, no other appliances using same power supply at the same time, not using an extension cord, my first check would be the pressure switch.

Not sure what you mean by "staying on" but certainly, when it reaches its cut out pressure setting, the compressor should shut down until the pressure drops to cut in.

Cheers,

Bill

Emglos Model number is not valid??

by george
(lockport ny US)

Model number on tank is WAM5 A-60 and Model number on pump is WAM. Serial number on both tags read 218765. All parts forums do not recognize this model. It is an Emglo from Johnstown Pa.

The logical place to inquire as to part numbers would be Emglo, George.
