Electric air compressor trys to run in both directions

when i turn on the compressor it acts as if it is trying to go in both directions and then pops breaker

I'm not quite sure what the complaint is? Are you saying that the motor tries to turn both ways?

I'm thinking that you have an electrical, electrical wiring, or motor problem, but I really don't know as I don't understand the complaint.
