Does a3-8 hp compressor needs vibration isolation?

Bill says...Paul, do you mean at 3/8 HP, or what?
Regardless, the compressor is isolated from a floor, often through elastomeric mounts or wire springs, to stop the transfer of vibration to the floor it's mounted on to reduce noise and the potential for vibration damage.
If you compressor running isn't creating to much vibration related noise, and the floor upon which it's mounted isn't vibrating sympathetically, then why isolate it?
On the other hand, if you have concerns, then why not do it? There is no negative that I can see.
Cheers,
Bill
