Dewalt d55146 type 2 is blowing the fronts of the psi gauges off.

Was running the compressor and all the sudden the front glass part of psi gauge flew off. Went a bought a new one and the same thing happened. Any suggestions what might be wrong. Thank you

Yikes, that's not good.

If the gauge front pieces are blowing off, either it's a bad batch of gauges and they are failing at a lower pressure than they should, or, the pressure in your compressor system is exceeding the normal ranges.

Since the Dewalt d55146 type 2 is rated for 200 PSI, did you change gauges? If you purchased general purpose gauges they may not stand up to continuous 200 PSI use.

If they are OEM gauges, and the compressor is under warranty, take the compressor back.

And, without being in front of the new gauge, what is the tank pressure getting too on this compressor? Is it exceeding the 200 PSI rating? If so, you have a more serious problem.
