devilbiss

Bought, a used Devilbiss 60 gl 6.5 hp oilless air compressor.

Hooked up a standard 3 prong dryer cord to the compressor, and installed the matching 3 prong receptacle to outlet box.

The receptacle was wired as ( red ) & ( black ) wires, to top of receptacle and (white ) wire to bottom as common. Also, the ( bare ) copper ground was ( grounded ) to metal receptacle itself.

The power cord was hooked to compressor as the outer wires to power leads and the center wire of the cord ( grounded ) to compressor.

My research suggest the wiring is correct.

My concern is that if wiring from outlet & compressor r correct then the problem is from compressor motor, or from outlet back to fuse box?

I thought possible reset button on compressor as,well but i discovered these compressor will restart automatically once cooled. Any advice would b appreciated..Thxs

OK, what problem?

Although I don't give electrical advice on this site since I'm not an electrician, I invite those qualified to respond... as soon as we know what the problem is.
