FC470-1 Nameplate

The nameplate on my FC470-1 says 120/240V/15/7.5A/60HZ/1 Ph. It currently has a 120 plug that I'd like to convert to a 240.

However, I'm not sure if there's something special I need to do.

Admittedly I haven't taken the cover off to see how it is attached, etc. can't find anything in manual telling me how. Can this be done? Should I? Any recommendations how?

Thanks!

Yes, you need to change the wiring on the motor. It won't generally be found in the manual because they are usually outsourced.

There should be a diagram or at least a list of which wires go where for the two voltages, usually somewhere near where the power enters the motor case.

If you don't find one then you'll need to look up the motor maker.

Have fun.
