Devilbiss 3.5 HP electric 20 gal

Compressor fires up to pressure fine. After pressure is reached it cuts out like it is supposed to. When pressure goes below the cut on pressure, motor starts with no power and makes no pressure. The pump and motor rotate easily by hand. I cannot feel a difference rotating the pump hot or cold. Wait a long while and the motor will start again with power and pump to the limit.

Check valve, piston, cylinder and head have been replaced.

Michael, I must confess I'm not quite sure what this means... "When pressure goes below the cut on pressure, motor starts with no power and makes no pressure.".

If the motor starts, and runs, and it is connected properly to the pump, then the compressor pump should be making pressure in the tank.

Unless the valves on the pump aren't working properly, or you have a gasket leak internally. Then the compressor could run all day and not build pressure.

That the problem is not there when the compressor is cold suggests to me a heat related issue.
