D96 A has a knocking noise...

Compressor has a nocking noise, but not rods or crank. I tore it down, the connecting rods, crank bearings and ristpins check good.

I believe it's in the oil slinger assembly. Not sure what it should look like. Can this fail or wear out and give these type of light nocking noise?

compressor knocking...oil slinger?
by: Doug in s.d.ca.

I've not found a decent drawing to understand how the Centro-Ring Pressure Lubrication works.

However, a couple of things -

using the right oil?

turning ccw looking at the flywheel?

Maybe you can get pix of what you call oil slinger?

In any case, good luck, and thanks.
