D55155 Compressor - Air from pinholes of regulator

After purchasing a new regulator, the air is still leaking from the pin holes at the top of the regulator.

I followed assembly as per the Dewalt drawings a few times and still the same issue.

No amount of adjustment of the regulator reduces the air from those pinholes at the top.

Air from pinholes of regulator
by: Bill

Perhaps a dumb question, Mike, but is there any chance that the regulator is installed with the air flow from the tank going the wrong way through the regulator? Air from the tank would then bleed out the relief hole on the regulator.

A period of air leaking from the regulator always occurs when the regulator is dialed back from a higher pressure setting, and the downstream air has to be relieved to get to the new, lower setting.

Failing that, I'd expect to find a torn or pierced diaphragm in the base of the regulator.
