Dewalt D55146 Type 2, 200 PSI, 4.5 Gal compressor. Will not turn off, replaced pressure switch and it still will not turn off. I tried turning down pressure with the screw on the switch, still no help. It runs and will not cut off. PRV does not release either.

Will not turn off

If you replaced the switch, then the new one may have a much higher cut out setting, and that's why the compressor runs on past normal cut out, or it may not be working properly either.

The switch should trip to non-passing at the cut out pressure setting. If it does not, and power continues to flow to the motor when the tank pressure gets past the cut out set point, then the switch is pooched or, as I say, may not be installed correctly.
