D210PHJD Builds pressure, but will not maintain pressure under load.

I use the compressor to run a media blasting rig and just completed a large job. The compressor has less than 500hrs. and all fluid levels are within normal limits. The compressor builds pressure once switched into run mode although the engine barely revs, which is not normal. Once the pressure has reached the desired setting I begin to blast and the pressure drops quickly. I then have to stop and wait for the pressure to build. Normally the engine would rev and have no problem keeping up.

Low pressure

So it's loading, but the linkage to the throttle is broken or stuck, or the engine itself is sick, like clogged fuel filter, e.g.

I'd start with figuring out if the throttle is working.

Good luck.
