curtis d97 unloader problem

by Tom H

I recently acquired a curtis d97 33a compressor. I cannot locate any information on it. It has an unloader problem. After reaching set pressure, motor shuts off but cannot restart due to unloader not working. Any help would be appreciated and to trouble shooting the unloader valves. Thanks

When the pressure switch trips to shut off the motor, does it toggle the unloader valve, and are you hearing a blast of air out of it? If not, try pushing on the unloader valve pin by hand to see if you can get it to work.

These are unsophisticated devices, and don't regularly fail, though it's possible some debris has gotten into it and is blocking air flow.

Curtis D97 33a Compressor

The curtis compressor has a built-in unloader. From what I can see. there are valves in both cylinders which have the unloader valves inside. There appears to be a tube running from the high pressure side to the low pressure side. Is there a way to check the valves? Thanks
