Craftsman will not stop running.

I have a dual tank craftsman air compressor and is hardly ever used, but one day it stopped building pressure up to 20 psi.

After it reaches 20psi it will keep running.

I checked for leaks and pulled the top of where piston is located, but did not see any damaged parts.

Like I said this air compressor is fairly new even though it was bought over 6 years ago. I have only used it no more than ten times since it was bought.

Checked oil also was correct.

I researched around stating in might be check valve,I'm hoping. Please help!

Craftsman compressor tops out at 20 PSI

Possibly a tank check valve, but I doubt it.

Not knowing the model prevents me from doing any checking on your behalf.

Offhand I'd GUESS that you've got a gasket or valve failure but really, that's only a guess with the relatively little information provided.
