Craftsman 2hp 12 gal air compressor old model 916-154020 has power, will not start

The air copressor had left in basement, but haven't
use couple months, when I plug it in the outlet I hear
nothing,I checked the power it does have juice all the
way to motor starting .

Hello Kom.

Good that your compressor has power all the way to the motor, that suggests that the pressure switch is working fine. If the pressure is below the switch cut in pressure setting, power should be flowing to the motor.

You don't say what happens then? Does the motor start and the compressor won't build pressure, or does the motor not even try to start?

If it's not trying to start at all, and the motor is getting a full current flow, then I'm thinking that you have a failed motor.

My first thought was that you had a motor capacitor issue, but if the motor doesn't even try to go, then I think it's the motor.
