Cracked shut off valve for Speedaire compressor

by Paul Franklin

I need the plastic shut off valve assembly on a vintage Speedaire. Is a one piece assembly that has the check valve and the regulator screwed into it. The thread area where you screw in the quick disconnect piece for the hose is a brass insert inside the plastic housing.

The plastic housing around the brass threaded insert is cracked.

The whole assembly screws into the top of the tank.

I do not have the manufacturers number as I just found your site giving me information on that number.

Like I said this whole plastic assembly has the check valve and the regulator screwed into it.

Everything works fine except for the leak where it is cracked.

It is a Dayton I bought at Grainger for my shop back in 1981 or 1982.

It is a portable unit with wheels and a handle I haven't had a chance to get the manufacturer number or more information at this time.

Thought I'd just give it a try.

I will try and find the manufacturer number and upload a picture sometime tomorrow.

Am I in the right place to get information on this part?

This is the (a) place.

If it's mostly Dayton, you may have a shot at the part, but it's past child-bearing age, so...

You'll probably have to improvise, but shouldn't be too hard.

(Be good if we could see what you are talking about. Please start a new question, add up to four photos of your compressor component, and we'll add the images to this post. _ Moderator)
