Cpmpressor won't build pressure

I have a Sears/Craftsman 1.5 HP, single cylander, oil free compressor. Mod # 919.155611. The motor starts and the compressor turns and exhausts air throught the exhaust, but does not build pressure in the tank. The Sears repair site says that no parts are available for this model and I don't find the model listed on other repair and parts sites either. I think it would involve a minor repair but I cant't find parts or advise. Thanks for any help or advise.

Steve, what exhaust? As far as I know there is no an exhaust port on your compressor.

Start a new thread, add a photo of the "exhaust" port on your compressor, and we'll see if we can help figure it out for you.

Cheers,

Bill

Mine compressor is doing the same thing! It blowing air out not sucking air in.... How do you fix this? Thanks

It sounds like the intake valve is failing or is not seating. More info on that here:

Compressor

Not being too familiar with terminology, I may not have described this correctly. I'm referring to the round, black plastic part attached to the top of the compressor head. It "puffs" air out as the compressor runs. Thanks very much for the response and any advice. Steve

PS. I can't get pictures to attach to this for some reason.

Without seeing it I'm just guessing, but if that "round, black plastic part attached to the top of the compressor head" is the intake filter, it's not supposed to puff out air.

That suggests that your intake valve is failing, and instead of forcing the compressing air down into the tank, it's simply allowing the air back out again.

Cheers,

Bill
