Converting SCFH to SCFM

by Rod Henshaw
(Calgary Alberta Canada)

A machine I am working on calls for 350 SCFH (standard cubic feet per hour).

I am not sure if I just divide the 350 SCFH by 60 to get SCFM (standard cubic feet per minute) as there are 60 minutes in an hour.

Converting SCFH to SCFM

Hello Rod:

Your machine is probably asking for a certain CFM of compressed air at a specific pressure...yes?

SCFM is standard, pre-compressed air. The air you breathe. Air that's delivered from the discharge of your compressor is commonly identified as CFM.

Regardless of that, yes, it makes sense that you'll divide the CFH by 60 to get CFM.

Cheers,

Bill
