I have a Speedare compressor by Dayton model number 4B234D with motor MC015502. it is wired for 240VAC and i would like it to work on 110VAC. is that possible? how do i convert it?
thanks in advance for your help.
Regards, Marc

Bill says...Marc, I expect it is possible, but probably not practical unless the motor and compressor is designed to be converted.
The compressor may be designed to run properly with the power from a 220 Volt motor only. If you are going to a 120 Volt motor, I wonder if there will be enough amperage in the 120 Volt power supply to get the motor enough power to properly run the power demand of a 220 Volt compressor?
Changing motors would be fairly easy if the shaft and mounts line up. Just change the pressure switch to a 120 Volt one.
Check with Speedaire to see if the motor is convertible.
