Compressure builds up about 24 lbs. of pressure and keeps runing.....?

Compressure builds up about 24 lbs. of pressure and keeps runing with no more pressure buildup. Checked all the connections for leaks but seemed to be o k.

My compressure is a campbell Hausfeld model HL-410 just started doing that. Changed oil and still have the same problem.

Bill says...

Hi whoever you are...?

You may have a gasket breach inside the air compressor that, as the piston moves into the compression stroke, simply allows the air to flow out of the compression area without building pressure. This leak may only occur at your 24 PSI.

Or, the intake reed valve may be stuck or failing. Is there air huffing and puffing at the compressor air intake port?

If so, check the reed valves.

Cheers,

Bill
