compressors not running / blows fuse

model# 5Z401 10 HP 3 PHASE It will run but compressor boggs, the motor down then pops a the fuse . The compressor has plenty of oil but a lot of hours

Assuming the power supply to the compressor is not compromised (long extension cord / other items pulling power from the same circuit etc.) your motor starts to bog down as it cannot generate enough force to overcome whatever load it is experiencing.

As it tries, it pulls more power, the power draw exceeds the fuse amperage, and the fuse burns.

If you have no mechanical problem with the pump, then it could be a run capacitor (if your compressor has one) or it could be just that the motor is getting tired.

In either case, having a load test on the motor circuit wouldn't hurt.
