Compressor wont start sometimes

Compressor will fill up to the 125 it is set for and when it drops to the 90 where it should come back on, it attempts to start and you can heart it chug a couple of times but then quits.
Sometimes it works but most tines it just chugs and quits

Compressor is an 8 gallon Campbell Hausfeld

Will it then sit there and not try to start again? If that's the case, how do you get it to start where it chugs and quits.

Do me a favor. Pull the plug, drain the tank pressure down to zero and close the drain plug.

Plug the compressor back in. What happens?
