Compressor won't shut off after pressure switch replacement

My 30 gallon craftsman compressor would not shut off when it reached the right pressure, it would run and pump all the way to 200lbs! I ordered a new pressure switch and replaced it and it is still doing the same exact thing with the new switch!

Bill says...Kevin, it's the pressure switch that closes the contact and allows power to flow to the motor when the pressure in the tank drops to the cut in pressure level, and it's the pressure switch that opens the contacts to cut power to the motor when the high pressure cut out pressure level is reached.
I know of nothing else that would affect the turning on or off of the motor but the pressure switch.
I am guessing that you removed the old switch when you had the new one there, so you could double check and make sure the orientation was right, and that all the same wires went to the same terminals?
That being the case, I can only guess that your high pressure setting on the new switch is set too high, or you have another bum switch.
If anyone else has ideas, I would sure like to hear them.
Cheers, and good luck.
