Compressor will not build pressure - filler tube issue

I have a one year old porter cable c6001, 150psi, 17 gal. I dont know why but the filler tube blew out and I replaced it, but cannot seem to get a good seal where the tube enters the head. Can I use a gasket sealer here? is it recommended to replace the head gaskets, since I had to take the head apart to replace the tube? should I use gasket cement if I replace the gaskets? the tube has a small rubber sleeve on it as it enters the head, which I replaced also.

Hi Peter. You have me at a disadvantage, as I don't know what you mean by "filler tube". Do you think you might start a new thread and upload a photo?

If what you mean by the filler tube is the pipe that runs from the top of the compressor head into the tank, be careful of gasket or sealing material. This tube gets very hot when the compressor is running.

Cheers,

Bill
