Compressor Vertical Receiver Positioning

We currently installed a 10hp Reciprocating Type Air Compressor at a very narrow area. The design is that after the compression, the air will go to the horizontal receiver that is mounted on the ground (package industrial type air compressor with receiver tank below the compressor), then goes to a seperated vertical receiver. The vertical receiver has 2 large holes around 2 inches, one for outlet and one for inlet. The location of one hole is at elevated height (near top of the tank), while the other hole is at the near bottom of the tank. The outlet of the horizontal receiver is directly connected to the inlet of the vertical receiver. Which is better? The inlet of the Vertical Receiver is hole at the elevated height? And the outlet is at the bottom part? Or vice-versa? If the answer is the former one, the connection will be connected using straight pipes and elbow couplings. Thanks.

Howdy Sorlozer. Nice to hear from you again.

Since water, like everything including my belly, is affected by gravity, as your compressed air cools, water will flow to the bottom of the tank. If the outlet to your mains is there, the water will flow into your mains.

It were me, I'd take the air to the plant from the top of the tank.
