I have a Dewalt D55155 air compressor unit with a
model MK200/P-2M 120V 1 phase class F motor on it. The trouble is that when I start the compressor it either starts slowly and then trips the breaker, or if it starts quickly and then trips the breaker when it builds pressure.

I have checked for clogging in the compresseor unit and the rings and reed valve are in good condition and seam to be functioning properly an I have checked for clogs in the intake.

Tim, your breaker is blowing because your compressor is pulling more amps than the circuit can provide.

This is often caused by extra load on the compressor motor during start up.

Check under the Troubleshooting link for a page dedicated to this issue.

And, you may want to make sure first that your unloader valve is working.

Cheers,

Bill
