compressor starts find. at about 80psi it stops.a few seconds later it will try to start but the motor strains to start several times then when it does start runs for a while then does the same thing again until tank is full. Pressure switch? Can't find parts for this Task Force Model 223844. Approximately 5 years old and has done this since new. Floor model as is!

For a cost of about $25 or so, replacing the pressure switch might be a cheaper way to help diagnose the problem than taking it to a shop.
Is this the compressor with the FURNAS pressure switch?
I suspect that you can find an off brand of the same size to replace yours at a halfway decent compressor parts outlet. Take the old one with you to be sure you get the same.
Your motor is straining to start because, I suspect, the unloader valve hasn't tripped to dump air over the piston, which should happen when the pressure switch reaches cut out pressure.
Sounds like a pressure switch. Only a changeout will tell. Make sure you wire it up correctly and that unloader valve works.
