Compressor smoked, now doesn't run right.

I have a Bostitch CAP60PB oil free and it has worked flawlessly for a year.
The other day I was working on the roof and it was sitting at a slight angle, not totally level. I turned it on to fill the tank and halfway into it's run, I noticed smoke coming out of the exhaust port and it seemed Like it wad running, but "bogged down".
I turned it off and haven't used it since :(
When I start it now it runs rough and "bogged down". I know I've got to replace something but I have no idea what. Any ideas?

Bill says....Hmmm Boot, what exhaust port?
Are you saying that smoke came out of the intake port?
If smoke came out of anywhere, something has burnt. If you can, do an amp test on the motor to see the draw. I'll bet it's pulling more amps than usual, and that could be that the motor is failing, or something in the power train has failed and is adding load to the motor.
Take it to the shop.
Cheers,
Bill
