Compressor slows down dramatically when it is...

My 10HP 3PH compressor often slows down dramatically when it is almost up to full pressure.

Slowing down or bogging down indicates that the compressor motor can't handle the load it is experiencing.

That could be a tank check valve not working properly, a pressure or intake valve issue, a capacitor issue, or the motor might be wearing out, not to mention that if you are using an extension cord for your compressor or too many other appliances pulling power at the same time could be the reason.

I don't know where to start with advice, as you have given me so little info.
