compressor shuts down in 10 seconds

compressor shuts down in 10 seconds and motor is just humming and then it kicks the breaker, its 3 hp sanborn. thanks dan

Dan, what I'm hearing you saying is that your compressor tries to start, but after 10 seconds or so, it pops the breaker.

Try this first. Pull the plug, open the tank drain, drain it down to zero PSI in the tank, close the drain, plug it in and/or turn it on again.
