Compressor runs fills tank, Compressor get hot and acts like it is locked up and when motor kicks on it blowes breaker.

IT APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE COMPRESSOR GETTING HOT AND FREEZING UP. RUNS OK FILLS TANK AND CUTS OFF BUT WHEN IT RESTARTS IT BLOWS BREAKER. SPEEDAIR MODEL 3Z355

Richard, do me a favor?

Shut off the compressor, drain all the air from the tank, and then try to start it. Start OK?

Let the compressor run up to 30 PSI in the tank, and then shut it off. Then, try to start it again with that 30 PSI in the tank. Start OK?

If so, run it up to 60 PSI and try again.
