Compressor runs but will not build pressure over 80

It is a 2.0 hp 6 gal. compressor. I normally drain it by the relief value ocassionlly to help keep moisture out, but i had a helper drain it one day by drain plug located on the bottom. It has not worked right sense.
Bill says...Sometimes helpers forget to close the drain valve all the way, and you compressor might be bleeding off enough pressure through the drain valve to prevent it getting to a higher pressure.
Otherwise, draining the tank pressure through the drain valve will have no bearing on the pressure level the compressor can generate.
Check out the questions and answers on the bottom of this page to see if any of the other tips might relate to your compressor situation.
Cheers,
Bill
