Compressor runs but doesn't build pressure anymore

compressor just kept running one day and was staying at the same low pressure and seemed like to be overheating.

Bill says...Billy, many compressors are not built to run continuously, and if yours keeps running, and doesn't build pressure to the cut out level, your motor will overheat and quite possibly be damaged.
The issue is not that your compressor won't start, but that it runs without building pressure, right?
